| I have tried everything to get BV to work on the Nokia E61i, it just wont connect. I have all my BYOD settings plugged in and it refuses to connect. I have it working on my Zyzel 200w V2 and it works fine. I am reading that the problem with the early e60/E61 units was that they didnt have STUN support, but it looks like the E61i has full support. Any ideas? Thanks G |

| ok, I have made some headway, I was able to connect and register by setting the access point to my TMobile EDGE connection, so it looks like NAT traversal isnt working, this is the exact issue I had with my E61, thats why I sold it. Now the E61i is supposed to have NAT and STUN support but it appears that it doesnt work, when I am on any network that has private IP's it cant connect, when I go to a public network it connects fine but still cant call(assuming bandwidth). so what now? | Nokias E and N phones are still a bit tricky about NAT traversals. Sometimes the issue is actually the router, I've noticed that with some my N95 will simply not register at all unless I turn on VPN and connect through it. With most routers it is however fine. Before selling you E61i I would try first to use different router. I myself prefer to have BV account setup on my asterisk box and connect all my voip phones including the N95 to the asterisk as well. This helps me to avoid issues such as double registration with BV. |

| For a lot of my connections swapping out the router isnt an option, like customer sites. I think Nokia did a poor job with the SIP client, it seems as if the NAT traversal doesnt work right at all, I have other SIP devices both hardware and software and they have no issues getting out from anywhere. It seems that Nokia needs to release a patch so that the E61i can operate as advertised. So to get around the buggy software it sounds like running a personal PBX might be the way to go. Any tips on getting and Asterisk box going? Thanks G |

| Nokia did a GREAT job with the built in VOIP client. Just because you can't find the configuration doesn't mean Nokia did a bad job If you guys search, you would find the thread where I posted the correct settings for Nokia VOIP client and Broadvoice. Click HERE to check it out (nokia n95 need config for broadvoice) It works perfect and unless you have 3G or WiFi (DSL or Cable) don't waste your time it will NOT work correctly. | ok so help me out!!! I am just saying that if I have a wifi phone that cares less about NAT and works perfect, why cant the E61i work like that if its so great? " It works perfect and unless you have 3G or WiFi (DSL or Cable) don't waste your time it will NOT work correctly." So WTF??? what other way do you plan for me to connect to the SIP server?? you have an ethernet wired LAN adapter that you hook to your E61i for SIP VOIP? It sure works for crap over EDGE. Whats the point of having a SIP VOIP client if you cant use it on a network, like I said POOR implementation of a SIP client. And BTW I found your thread first and I have all the settings, those are the obvious settings, I am talking about the NAT Traversal and STUN settings that dont appear in the standard menus.
