Unhappy about Nokia N95 SIP function 's issue

Hi all ,

i have a new nokia n95 , (v 21.0.016 14-02-08 RM-159 ) , I want to let the N95 register to Asterisk (ver 1.2) , but so far , it's unsuccessful to register all the time . The following is my configuration information on N95 :

Profile name: turbot
Service Profile: IETF
Default Access Point: turbot.xu
Public user name: 6908@10.1.9.252
Use Compression: No
Registration: Always On
Use Security: no

Proxy server settings

Proxy server address: sip:10.1.9.252
Realm: 10.1.9.252(I have already tried to use "asterisk" according to the explanation on the network )
User name: 6908
Password: ********
Allow loose routing: Yes
Transport Type: UDP
Port: 5060

Registrar Server Settings

Registrar serv. addr.: sip:10.1.9.252
Realm: 10.1.9.252
User Name: 6908
Password: ********
Transport Type: UDP
Port: 5060

Wifi connects normally !!!

Uses Wireshark software view IP trace :

N95 send a package to asterisk " request : register sip:10.1.9.252;transport=udp "

asterisk return informations to N95 : "status: 100 trying "

and next it's "status: 401 unauthorized " to N95

Then, N95 has not been responded to asterisk

why? Does anyone have good opinions?

I see on google there are a lot of N95 has already been registered to asterisk , please give me a advice on this issue , I have already debugged for a lot of days .
Thank you very muchhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Hello,

To get asterisk working with your N-95:

Clean the proxy settings section (leave with blank fields).

Go to wireshark and look for the 401 unauthorized response from asterisk server. In the response, look for the realm value (it´s usually asterisk).

Back to your phone, go to registrar settings section, put the realm value that you found on the 401 response (ie. asterisk) in realm field.

It´s normal for any sip based device or software to try registering without the autorization digest (password), when these devices receive a 401 response, they try sending the password along with a new register request. In N-95 case, nokia made the sip component in full accordance with IETF SIP specification, that checks the SIP realm value prior sending the password. If isn´t a match, the N-95 will not send the second request.

Hope I´ve helped.
