 Nokia E61 as a trunk Here is the situation: I have a trixbox (asterisk) server that has a couple of VoIP trunks programmed in. I am looking at getting a Nokia E61. My question is can I use my E61 as a trunk? Like I get free weekends and nights. Can I put into my dial plan to use the gsm on the e61 for that? Or do I need to get a gateway? Thanks, James      |

| Re: Nokia E61 as a trunk You really need a Gateway. Even though the E61 can do SIP, it doesn't have provisioning in it to have the SIP act as a gateway pass-thru to the GSMcall. There are GSM gateways that will allow you to send calls over the SIM card, registration, but doesn't sound like that's what you're looking for. KK |
