Yes, £450 to get started - crazy! The lowest rates to UK mobiles is still CallwithUs who also have excellent and very fast customer service if you should need them - start with $9.99:-

yes callwithus is cheap to india...
correction it is <$300US (200Eu) with siptraffic, I recieved their email and it is for life... and their prices are ridiculously cheaper half of any other company I have seen. But the <$300 is a lot of money.

Since you are asking for help on connecting through your mobile to landline or mobile which needs a VOIP service, I would suggest you the VOIP service that I'm using. It is ALLVOI, it is extremely cheap and the clarity is worth mentioning.

No siptraffic doesn't have this service, however this is why I came to this webboard to get ideas about this sip device?

I wanted to know whether after setting up a sip device at home, can use it as a personal connetion point between my mobile and long distance calls?

Most Betamax providers offer free calls for a period of several months to land lines (and mobiles) in quite a few (but not all) countries. Currently Poivy offer their mobile calling rate in the UK at 7p per minute (inc VAT), which now beats CallwithUs who have just doubled their mobile calling rate for UK numbers. Calls to US and Canada mobiles is included in the free minutes allowance with Poivy. It comes with a desktop softphone too. However don't expect customer service which is pretty much non-existant:-
