Default Zoom 5801 configuration with SPA9000

Does anyone here use a Zoom 5801 instead of an SPA3102 to connect PSTN lines to an SPA9000. If so, would you care to share the initial configuration?

I must admit, even after 18 months of using an SPA9000/SPA400 combination, I am completely lost. I cannot get anything working at all.

Help!

Default Re: Zoom 5801 configuration with SPA9000

OK. Well I've got the Zoom registered as an extension on the SPA9000. If I dial the extension, I get the PSTN dialtone and can dial out. I setup a dialplan on the phone of (<:23>S0) which then gets the PSTN when the line is selected.

I setup a dialplan of x. on the Zoom and a hotline of 5001 (an SLA extension on the SPA9000) and can receive incoming calls.

A few problems.

1. When dialling 23 and getting the PSTN dialtone, the first digit I dial on the SPA942 is dialled twice - I actually hear the DTMF being repeated.

2. No caller ID - incoming calls show as extension 23 calling.

Am I missing something?

Nevermind the SPA9000 - does anyone use the Zoom 5801 for anything other than connecting an analog handset to VOIP/PSTN? For example, has anyone successfully configured and SPA handset to work with the 5801 - I think it unlikely since if you attempt SIP registration to the Zoom, it replies "I am not a SIP server, I am a coffee maker".

Getting really frustrated now - I've spend over £1000 on Linksys kit and am completely unable to connect the damn thing to two PSTN lines without unacceptable echo.
