| The WIP300 is a single line phone and single lines phones really aren't meant for SLA. Plus, it wouldn't be a Linksys device if it didn't violate the SIP RFC somewhere and for the WIP300 that violation occurred when a register response contains multiple contacts (which happens for shared lines). This.. SLA and the WIP300 don't mix. As for other wireless phones.. I've tried the UTStar F3000, the Siemens SL75 WLAN, the Nokia E65 and the Pirelli DL-P10. 3 out of 4 cannot even register because the SPA9000 sends b0rked register responses, and the Pirelli works, but it's rather unstable and has a really bad range. |

However I've signed up to Sipgate and the handset stays live; it re-registers occasionally, but so far no fatal handset crashes. Does anyone else have this experience and what does the SPA9000 do to it? It is after all another Linksys device! |

| My experience with analog DECT phones has been less than satisfactory.. the phones generally work fine in a PSTN environment, but the additional D/A A/D conversion seems to just add trouble. I'd like to use dual mode DECT or IP only DECT phones (e.g. Siemens Gigaset), where that additional D/A A/D conversion doesn't have to happen (DECT being digital and all) - unfortunately, the RFC violations in the SPA9000 don't permit to connect Siemens phones (specifically the missing newline in the register response prevents the device from realizing that it is registered) |
