| Hi again, I am having another issue with the SPA9000/SPA400 set with SPA921 phones. The voicemail works fiine, but there is no notification on the SPA921 phones. Neither the lamp or the envelop icon on the screen of the phone appears. If I change the MW lamp option from the SPA921 menu EXT1 tab to "yes" both the lamp and the icon appeared but no matter if there is a voice message or not both stay on. Weird... Can anyone help? |

| Seems you need to factory reset the phone.. I've had the "always on" issue myself

| Thanks humba3, Do I have to do anything with the SPA400 ( for example to reset the mailboxes or something else)? I have factory reset the phones but nothing seem to change. I still have the MW lamp always on issue. Any ideas? Thanks! |

| Did you use the new wizard 2.0 to configure voicemail? It may be a configuration issue, as depending to the voicemail server setup, you would need to configure up to 3 parameters (subscription, management and retrieve) on the SPA9000. I suggest you try to configure the system with the wizard |

| I'm having a similar problem, but the notification does not show at all. SPA9k on 6.1.5 SPA400 on 1.1.2.2 SPA941 on 5.1.8 2xSPA921 on 5.1.8 Notification was working until this moring which was when I used the configuration wizard to attempt a backup. All components are back to exactly the same configuration (as far as I can see). VM USB stick was cleared and reinstalled using the english files - there was a corruption in some of the voice mailboxes, so everything is clean and any corruption removed. Voicemail works fine, except for the indication on the phones. The field "Message Waiting" is set to no and always has been. If I set to yes, it resets to no on reboot. The SPA400 is linked to the SPA9k on line 2. The voicemail status on the line 2 tab never updates. Any suggestions, please? Thanks Pete |

| I am not sure if this has been mentioned b4 in other treads, but I had no end of problems with the system when I did the Firmware updates for the SPA/9000 but not the SPA/400. When using the update program for the the SPA922's and the SPA9000 it worked a treat, but when it came to the 400 the update program failed. I later discovered a method in the latest Admin doco. This shows you how to do it from the web interface in the SPA400, very simple. It fixed alot of issues including the one mentioned here. Regards David In addition Walford58 I had the same issue and found that if I set the AA to answer and restart the spa400 it updated the voicemail status after that I could change it and it stayed updated. | The firmware updates for the phones and SPA9000 were done using the update program, but for the SPA400, I always use the binary file through the web interface. The voicemail status field is still not being updated into the SPA9000 from the SPA400. I've factory reset the SPA9000 this morning and reconfigured by hand (only took 30 minutes as well, so I must be doing this too often) and also factory reset the SPA400 and reconfigured. One of the phones was factory reset yesterday, so there's nothing in the setup which has not had a clean start since this problem appeared. Thanks for any further help. Pete |

| I've taken this a bit further and downgraded both SPA9000 and SPA400. Also reinstalled the USB voicemail files. Nothing changes (apart from the vm prompts are back to the female American accent rather than the UK male voice I had before - I'll reinstall them later). I believe the key problem is that the Mailbox Status field on the SPA9000 line2 (associated with the SPA400) never updates - it is currently blank. How does this get an update, and are there any settings I may have incorrect? Config attached. Thanks Pete |

| Hi Pete I am having exactly the same problem with the message waiting indicator after upgrading the firmware. (I have SPA9000, SPA400 and SPA942s) Like you I have tried factory resetting etc and manaully inputting again, but no joy. Also, I was interested to read in your post that an UK English Voice prompt is available. I have selected this from the drop down list in the SPA400 config, but I always hear the female American voice. Did you have to download the English voice files? Did you manage to resolve the message waiting problem? Regards Simon |

| Solved last night. Having started the wizard, I tried a factory reset on all components and rebuilding from scratch using the wizard, and then amending the parameters back to my original configuration. As with most setup wizards, it "knows" best, so there were quite a few changes to make. However the voicemail notifications worked again and the stutter I occasionally had on the voicemail prompts cleared. One thing still bemuses me - on reboot, the phones take far longer to register and the status page of the SPA9000 takes an age to display immediately after reboot. I suspect that since the wizard must make some hidden changes to the 6.1.5 configuration, that having an ITSP on line 1 must have an impact on it. There are sources of voice files which can replace the standard ones, but there are one or two anomalies between the Linksys menu and the Asterisk one. Pete |
