Default Voicemail to Email

Hey guys,

Does anybody know of a way to have voicemails sent from the following setup to emails?

SPA9000 + SPA400 + SPA942

I've been searching but haven't had much luck. I found an SPA9000 Administrators guide online that includes the SPA400 but some of it is above my understanding. I'm just a finance guy trying to put a decent phone system together for my small office.

Thank you to any and all that can shed some light on this. If I find anything I'll post it here.

Thanks,
Allen

The SPA400 doesn't support e-mail notification.

Since the device is basically an asterisk.. I guess you could connect via console and start editing the asterisk config files as asterisk natively supports voicemail to email functionality.

If you have an up-to-date SPA9000 admin guide, I'd be very interested... I'm still looking for a good explanation and configuration advice for all the features added in the 5.x firmware releases. The one I have is over a year old now.

Apparently Big Brother Linksys is watching because I have been notified that the manual I found is proprietary and not for public distribution. With Linksys' refusal to directly support the devices and my service provider not responding to telephone or email (I have checked other providers and they will only provide connection to their system, if they will even continue to support it on their system anymore (RNK will not)) I think Linksys' reputation is going to go down in flames.

I'm going to start looking for another system that has nothing to do with Linksys or its parent company.

Cisco TAC support is top of the line, but one has to pay for it. Linksys is in the low-cost marketspace.

Because of the complexities of VoIP, specifics of each provider, and low hardware margins, Linksys doesn't want to get involved with direct end-user VoIP support. A several hour PBX configuration call would kill any profit from the hardware sale.

You can always post here for free community support, or Voxilla offers paid SPA9000 support.

If you are interested in another PBX solution, you might want to check out TalkSwitch. Their PBX solutions are really easy to manage and support both VoIP and POTS.

Thanks Eric. I really need voicemail to email as well as some of the other standard features in Asterisk that Linksys doesn't offer. I ran across FacetPhone, are you familiar with that system?

Thanks for all of your help.

Allen

As with any company, it largely depends on which engineer you get and if an engineer promptly reroutes the case to somebody more qualified whenever necessary.
I've opened a bunch of cases with Linksys, and they do have good support people.. but fighting through the first line of "my device doesn't work" responders which have little more training than a checklist is very tiresome (and Cisco TAC has those people, too I'm afraid.. I've had cases open for excessive amounts of time without ever getting a solution).
