Default VM Remote Access problem

Hi
I have set up a GSM link to my SPA9k which works OK within the limits of call transfer etc.
However When I call in from a mobile or landline using the GSM link, I can access VM from the AA script, but from that point it refuses to handle any further DTMF tones and I only get the VM welcome prompt.
However, if I dial in through any other incoming line, I get full functionality.

I have checked the codecs - all matching.
The mobile and landline are obviously transmitting DTMF tones OK.
The GSM gateway must be transmitting DTMF tones as well, since the AA transfers successfully to VM.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
