Hi. I have been trying to manually change settings on my SPA400 using the web interface, but often without success. Take the NTP Server for instance. If I change it from its default (time.nist.gov) to my local NTP server IP address and press "Save Settings", it goes through its reboot sequence and then shows the old value in the "NTP Server" field. The same happens when I try swapping between "Discover Automatically" and "Static Address" on the SPA9000 Interface tab. The only way I could get it back to "Discover Automatically" was to do a factory reset (using the pin hole in the back of the box as the Factory Reset option on the web interface did absolutely nothing). Any clues? I'm running firmware version 1.0.0.9.

Furthermore... The SPA400 seems to get it self into a state where any attempts to "Save Settings" simply displays a dialogue box saying "Device is busy now. Please try again later.". The only way that I've found to recover from this so far is to cycle the power of the SPA400.

That almost sounds like your box is broken. Except for the trace settings (those are broken.. Linksys confirmed it and I have an open case that is several months old now), I've never had any problems saving (but unfortunately the box requires a reboot to get a new voice box which is sub-optional to put it mildly). Before you send back the box, I'd give an upgrade to the latest firmware, and a change of browser a try.

Thanks humba3, I've loaded the 1.0.0.a firmware onto the SPA400, and it hasn't resolved my issue. The box also seems overly busy trying to do very little. It is a bit hit or miss whether or not each requested webpage is successfully displayed in the browser. When I telnet to the SPA400 (U/N: root , P/W: Admin - basically just to see it the box is still alive) it randomly changes between fast typing response time and very very slow. Perhaps it is appropriate that the SPA900 is called "BusyBox" when you log in via telnet! I suspect you are correct - It does sound like my SPA400 is broken. None of my SPA9000, SPA3000, SPA941 and SPA942 devices exhibit these sort of symptoms. Thanks for your help.
