| I bought the SPA9000 with the SPA942 and SPA400 from Voxilla, and I am trying to install it. I have the basic system up except two important problems: 1. The incoming line rings twice, the spa9000 answer, except no greeting. the extensions seem to work if you dial them however? 2. I would have tried to upgrade to the 5.xxx firmware (I have the latest in 3.xxx) but I keep getting errors. Any help would be appreciated! |

How is your call routing set up? Do calls go to aa or to an extension? Can you call aa from a phone to see if you get a voice prompt? P.S. This whole thing would be so much more effective (and get you to your solution a lot quicker) if you provided such data upfront

| The problem was that the SPA400 was not registered. I had to reboot it a few times to get it going - frankly I am not quite sure how I got it registered. I am trying to set up a custom greeting. I don't want to have to speak into a connected phone and use my voice, rather, I would like to upload a computer file with a rather nice australian computer voice. I have converted the file to u-law. I uploaded the file using the setup wizard to prompt 6, I changed the "AA script 1:" under "Auto Attendant Parameters" from... <aa><form id="dt" type="menu"><audio src="prompt1" bargein....ect. to <aa><form id="dt" type="menu"><audio src="prompt6" bargein....ect. however, there is no greeting when set this way, it is just silence. Any ideas? |

Power cycle the SPA400, then power cycle the SPA9000. Works every time for me. Quote:

Prompt6 by default is silence. Check from the Voice>Info page on the SPA9000 whether there is a length indicated for prompt 6. If so, there has been a change since factory default. I always use a TFTP server to transfer the new prompts; look in the admin guide for details of how to transfer the files at boot time of the SPA9k.
