Ive just checked the linksys website and firmware 5.1.7 is available for the spa9000. The version info on the website still refers to the 5.1.6a so I contacted linksys to see what is new in this version but they dont know yet either! I haven't installed this yet but the link is: Linksys.com Downloads/Firmware Maybe this will sort out some of the problems...

I have hardware version 1.0.5, however I keep getting an error (wrong version) when I attempt the upgrade on either the V1 or V2 software. I reset the SPA9000 and tried again with the same result. Any ideas?

Is 1.0.5 considered to be Version 2?

Apparently since I also have firmware v1.0.5 and when I tried to apply the new firmware it was rejected. I will try v2 firmware release tomorrow and post my results. UPDATE: I JUST FOUND THIS ON ANOTHER THREAD! "There are 2 hardware platforms for the spa9000. V1 has 2 led's on the back where the cables connect to. This requires the spa9000 V1 software. On the V2 model the LED's where removed from the back of the unit where the cables connect to. The correct software has a "t" in the name spa9000t. Both are available on Linksys.com/downloads. Please have a look and try it again." So there we have it ... Linksys is just as straight forward as usual (if you live in the looney bin) Last edited by abronton : April 12th, 2007 at 04:30 AM.

UPDATE: UPGRADED TO 5.1.7 I applied the upgrade and systematically rebooted the SPA9000, then the SPA400 and finally my SPA942's but no change.
