I have succesfully configured the aastra 480i and 9112i phones with the SPA9000 (latest firmware 3.3.6). The problem I have is that the phones register for 60 seconds and then never register again until reboot. Tried changing every imaginable parameter on both the AASTRA and SPA9000...any ideas? Do not have that problem with aastra and asterisk ddirectly. HELP! Cheers -Marvin

SIP traces are your friend for almost every imaginable problem. What is the registration interval? Is it 60? If so, what does your phone after the 60 seconds and what does your SPA9000 after that interval? Does the SPA9000 still list your phone as registered after that time?

Ok, was able to make it re-register...but there is still a lag between registering the phone and SPA9000. Setting on aastra are: ... sip blf subscription period: 55 sip registration retry timer: 55 sip auth name: 100 sip user name: 100 sip display name: 100 sip proxy ip: 10.10.0.155 sip proxy port: 6060 sip registrar ip: 10.10.0.155 sip registrar port: 6060 sip registration period: 55 sip session timer: 55 sip rtp port: 8000 This is actually working and re-registering. On the SPA9000 SIP conf: Reg retry Interval: 10 Reg Min Expires: 120 Invite Expires: 120 etc. any of these parameters on the SPA9000 can I change to make it swiftly work? My X-Lite softphone has same configuration and registers swiftly any ideas on fine tunning? Thanks for the answer -Marv

Found the problem! AASTRA phones do not state in their Admin guide that the minimum registration time is 120. I went ahead and changed the Reg Timer on the SPA9000 to 120..it worked like a charm. No documentation here though. Too many timers to play with. Now the problem is not registration, but voicemail interaction...so you can look at the other post in this forum. Thanks -MN
