I have firmware 5.1.1. Whenever an incoming call comes in and an extension entered, no ring occurs for that caller, however the phones will ring. This is related to the following post: exodusinc Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Posts: 10 When my auto attendant picks up and a person dials an extension. The callers does not hear that extension ring.... All they hear is silence. Anyway to make the caller hear a ring?

RCanavan. This is an open defect for SPA9000 release 5.1.1. I am in the process of having the release notes updated for this issue. Inbound caller hits the AA then is transfered to an extension, the caller does not hear the extension ring back tone. The call is allready active when the AA answered. Engineering is aware of this issue and a fix will be provided in the next release. I don't have a release date yet (most likely sometime in january). Randy

Thanks for the update. I presume that I would have to revert to 3.3.6 while I wait for the fix to come out? Or is there another version I can acquire? It appears that the 5.1.1 is more stable than 3.3.6 (less manual rebooting to correct issues). Just have not seen any other versions between those two.

Anyone know if this issue was addressed in 5.1.6a? Happy New Year!

There is a work around and it deals with the Firmware version in the phone. Rollback the firmware on the phone back to a 4.xx version: http://www.sipura.net/download/spa941/spa941-4-1-17.zip http://www.sipura.net/download/spa942/spa942-4.1.18.zip Users dialing in should hear ringback tone. If anyone needs this, just rollback 1 phone and test. The actual fix will be in the SPA9000 but this is a work around to rollback the phone firmware.

OK - I am a day away from tossing this Linksys system in its entirety. Unless there is a firmware fix that addresses this issue, and the stability issues simultaneously, I cannot continue to waste my time trying to get this system operational. I have 14 phones (SPA922, 942), a single SPA400, and the SPA9000, and I cannot get the system stable. I have rolled back to the work-around versions of the SPA9000 firmware, but now, I have the stability issues in the connectivity between the SPA400 and the SPA9000. I have rolled back the phone firmware, and i am having the same issues? Please, please can someone give me a date when the new firmware for the SPA9000 will be released?

I have been watching each day, and I do share in your thoughts on the matter. I am evaluating this system for potential use as a replacement to the traditional PBX systems. At this time, until a stable firmware for all items considered comes out, I am holding back on proceeding with further installations. Thank goodness it was only purchased for a test environment, I could not imagine this in use for production / office purposes.
