Default Re: SPA9000 - aa transfer with no ring

typical linksys lately. I'm a reseller and i've yet to even tell a customer about this system because of all of the problems. I'm looking at asterisk right now and I gotta tell you, it's pretty cool all the options you get in there too! I do like the 94x phones they are nice! But the pbx just seems to be lacking, and I can't see much of a change coming on the horizon fast enough.

By the time they get it working 1/2 decent most people will have moved into a solution like asterisk....I hate to say it, because I love alot of linksys' products but, even as we prepare to move into an office, I can't install this system and not worry about it....

I am a reseller also trying to evaluate phone systems to deploy. I have had similar experiences with the LVS system. I just can't get the system stable enough to install it for my customers. The phone system is a vital part of the business communications and I am afraid the chopped down version of Asterisk that is the heart of this product is too limiting. Unified messaging must be a feature in a VoIP system today and I am being told tht this will not happen.

The SPA 9000 is a piece of garbage. I already returned the system we bought. IP PBX linksys really screwerd this one up. Ultimately it is the Asterisk system that we decided on. These linksys devices are an absolute nightmare and really don't work correctly. You shouldn't have to deal with updates and bug fixes, please what is this an open source IP PBX. LOL !!! Stay away from SPA 9000 the IP Phones and Voice Gateway.
Originally we changed out to uprgrade but after going through hell for 2 weeks with these foolish devices we decided to use the Asterisk. Bottom line Linksys developed a product that most of their own techs cant even support. Run for the hills buddy.

Rollback the firmware on the phone back to a 4.xx version:

http://www.sipura.net/download/spa942/spa942-4.1.18.zip

Users dialing in should hear ringback tone.

If anyone needs this, just rollback 1 phone and test. The actual fix will be in the SPA9000 but this is a work around to rollback the phone firmware.

I have also had this problem with the ringback issue.

I have 3 spa941's with 5.1.5 firmware and a spa901 with 5.1.5 firmware.

I have downgraded the spa941's to 4.1.17 and the spa901 to 4.1.11c. Two of the spa941's and the spa901 now have the ringback tone.

For some reason one spa941 will not work with this firmware, the firmware installs and the web configuration page loads and appears well but when you try and call the phone it doesnt ring and goes to the 'CFwd Busy Dest' (back to the aa in my case), I have reinstalled the 5.1.5 firmware and the phone now rings (without the ringback tone).

3 out of 4 ayn't bad!

Did not read in SPA9000 lastest firmware that the ring back issue was resolved. Loaded both 5.1.7 on the 9K and 5.1.5 on 941..... not resolved yet unless I missed somthing. Rolled phone back to 4.1.17 as linksys-tstr suggested before as temporary fix.

I contacted linksys yesterday about the 9k 5.1.7 firmware and the ringback issue has not been resolved in this release.

He did say however that there would be an other firmware update that solves this problem sometime in the coming month...lets hope so anyway.

I found that the ring back issue was resolved when I updated the SPA400 to 1.0.0.9. I was not able to update the SPA9000 to 5.1.7 as it came back with a "version failed" message. Not sure if this is due to the hardware being 1.0.5 instead of 1.0.5a?

Try using the v1 firmware if v2 doesnt work:

Linksys.com Downloads/Firmware - v1

Linksys.com Downloads/Firmware - v2
