| Has anyone had success using the SPA400's FXO ports without the SPA9000 PBX? I am considering trying to purchase the SPA400 so I could configer one of my SPA962 phone lines to use the PSTN (via the SPA400). I would rather not also pay for the 9000, as I do not need PBX features or advanced routing. Essentially, could a SPA phone (like my SPA962) register directly to a SPA400 to use the PSTN phone lines? I already have a ITSP for the 962 that provides all the PBX features I need, I am just trying to get a backup system (or to make calls via PSTN without incuring metered rates!). If SPA400 won't work as the VoIP gateway/SIP server, does anyone else know of any simple solution besides buying the 9000 and 400 (or using software on a computer...). Many thanks! | I am not sure. I sure do not see the post. Is it in a different forum? I searched for hours and did not find anything before posting my question. Would you be kind enough to post a link to the discussion you are referring to? I see that you mention Linksys SPA3102 as a possible gateway. I called Linksys (what a joke) and another vendor. They said that a SIP phone (such as a Linksys SPA 962) could not connect to the 3102 to use the FXO port (ie, use the SPA962 to place/recieve calls from the FXO on the 3102). Are they mistaken? If you think that this configuration would work with the SPA3102 I would be very curious. I appreciate your help. Last edited by patrickj : October 23rd, 2007 at 09:27 PM. |
