Default SPA400, SPA9000 and VOIP

I'm sure that i can do this, but I just wanted to verify. Can I use a PSTN gateway AND a VoIP service with the SPA9000?

I would assume that the dialing rules would be something like dial 9 for PSTN and dial 8 for VoIP?

Thanks,
Aaron

yes you can.

And you'd probably be happer with another gateway for PSTN connections.. either an SPA3k, or a Grandstream 4/8 port model as they offer more flexibility. I'd use the SPA400 for voicemail only, a task which it does reasonably well (the main annoyance there isn't the fault of the device itself but the fault of the SPA9k), but it really leaves a lot to be desired in the PSTN arena.

Thanks for the reply humba. Why wouldn't you use the SPA400 specifically. I just need it for 4 PSTN lines and I'm not doing anything fancy with it. Does just functionally not work well? Or do you not get some advanced functionality with it?

Thanks again,

Aaron
