SPA400 dial-out using SKYPE Adapter
My usb Skype adapter is connected to my SAP400(+SPA9000) RJ11. Works perfectly for incoming SKYPE calls. routes and vm correctly.
However, to make outgoing calls, I route with a dail-plan to the SPA400 interface, no problem, but can not configure the dail plan to out pulse the required "*" to toggle the skype interface to SKYPE calling mode. Also need to terminate the dail-string with the "#", which send the phone number to SKYPE and places the call.
The SPA presents the entire sting correctly to the interface, just need the "*" and "#" in the string.

The adapter works well, I can dial out with a pots phone just fine, just need to tone out the "*" and "#" keys.
Thanks,
Bob

Re: SPA400 dial-out using SKYPE Adapter
Ok here goes a stab at it
My dial plan in the 9000 (and all the phones) is
|9,<5:01155>xxxxxxxxxx|
9 gets you line 1 (my VOIP line) you can dial 6 or 7 and this accesses my line 3 and 4
<5:01155>xxxxxxxxxx when you dial a 5 this will automatically dial 01155
This is the international and country code. I call this a lot and wanted to simplify the dialing. so when you dial 95 then the number the 9000 dials out line one 01155 and the number as it strips the 9 out. so could you substitute your * where I have my 01155 in this case?

Re: SPA400 dial-out using SKYPE Adapter
Hi, Thanks for the info. The substitution does work, however, the charters "#" and "*" are stripped out and never sent to the adapter.
I remember somewhere seeing something about using a escape sequence to force special charters star and hash to be outputted. Any ideas?

Re: SPA400 dial-out using SKYPE Adapter
According to the manual, you can put both * and # into the dialplan. There's no wildcard for those characters but you can write them explicitly.
See here for more.
