| Hello Humba, Yes i know about my post, I'm just so stuck with this SLA, it's getting me crazy! To answer your question, I'm in the same case as matw8 which is : When the line keys are set to PRIVATE both phones connect OK. Both can make outgoing calls, but only one receives calls. When I set the line keys to SHARED neither phone works. The line key LEDs flash red and dialing the number gives a BUSY tone. Edit: Something comes to my mind, can we get the SLA function without an SPA9000? Because, I'm using the SPA942s without it. We may have to change a registration setting in asterisk, don't your think? Last edited by biknit : May 5th, 2008 at 02:22 AM. Reason: Update |

| You might wanna look at that (note that this is one of the first results a google search for the appropriate search terms (being spa942, asterisk and "shared line") returned). And you didn't answer my question... (and to top that off, the fact that you're posting in the SPA9k forum even though you have none would also have been very useful information...)

Finally, can the integrated SLA function of the SPA942s work without a SPA9k? Thanks! |

| I believe SLA is being discussed in the sipping working group at the IETF but it's not RFC yet - so basically different manufacturers do different things. The post I linked to seems to suggest it should work, but your PBX would to support the mechanism that the Linksys phones use for BLF. As far as Asterisk is concerned (I know next to nothing about asterisk so I did a quick google search for "spa942 sla asterisk" and google came up with this link that I think is pertinent to your question), this is something to look at. Apparently there's a patch in the works that would enable SLA on the SPA9xx series, but for now you need to patch your asterisk manually (meaning recompile from source) as the patch has yet to be included in the main line code.

| No.. I had SLA working on line2 on all my phones. However, the original poster tried SLA on an Asterisk and as I pointed out, the Asterisk's SLA does not work with a Linksys phone but there are efforts underway to change that.. follow the links I posted to see the current status of things.
