Default RE: How to register external extensions to SPA9000

Hi,

I want to register my extension to my SPA9000 located in the office while I am traveling. My SPA9000 is set to use "WAN" proxy mode. The NAT/Firwall router that I carried is the Linksys WRT54G. When I tried to set my Polycom 501 IP phone on the Linksys's DMZ, the phone could register to my SPA9000 back at my office. However, when I dialed any external number or internal extension (namely Phone1 and Phone 2 on the SPA9000) it could not connect. Can someone tell me what caused this to happen?

In a different network setup, I tried to do a port forwarding on my travel router (WRT54G) to my Polycom 501 IP using port 6060, this time it would not register to the SPA9000. Are there other signaling ports that I need to portforward to? What about RTP ports range?

thank you,

Leo

Polycoms have notoriously bad NAT support. You have to forward both the SIP port and the RTP ports in order for the Polycom to work correctly, not to mention setting the external IP address in the appropriate place. I forget exactly what Polycom's use for their RTP ports.
