| Hello, Is it possible to setup one of the FXS ports with a Voice mail box. Under FXS line #, this is a box for 'Mailbox ID', but i can't seem to get it to work. If not for Voice mail, what could this be used for? Thanks |

| It is meant for voicemail - however, there's a long unfixed bug which makes the whole thing fail (I don't recall which one it is: the SPA9k not sending the mailbox ID or the SPA9k blocking call to the voicemail pickup number from the FXS port). So at this point I'm afraid there's no VM for analog phones.

| I have found a workaround for this bug. Add to the FXS1 Dial Plan the following: <200:800@192.168.0.110:5090> where the IP address is of the SPA400 (assuming a default port configuration) and 200 can be whatever you like as long as it doesn't conflict with our other dial plan entries. Now just dial 200 (without leading digits) and you'll hear the voicemail box prompt asking you for the mailbox number. Enter the mailboxnumber (without the linenumber digit) and wait for the password prompt, enter the password en you're in. The one thing that makes this less then perfect is that you have to enter the mailbox number every time. Maybe somebody else knows how to solve that. P.S. It is also possible to have an entry to the AA in the FXS1 dial plan, you'll get the AA prompt and if you setup the AA dial plan correctly you'll be able to let the AA transfer you to the mailbox (See manual under Enabling Remote Voice Mail Access (Optional) ) |

| That's definitely a workaround but as you said, it's not perfect. What makes it worse, there's no way to cfwd the line to voicemail.. so essentially it's half a voicemail. If you have a way to open a case, please do so as I've long run out of venues to deposit that problem (I've reported this back in '06).

I'm sorry but I don't have a way to open a case as I'm just a home user of the stuff. Linksys is not going to help me. (I tried). |

| A very friendly Linksys support engineer confirmed the bug after testing in his lab environment. He forwarded a report to the development department hoping for a fix in the future. The dev. dept. probably already knows about this bug but maybe another report from within Linksys will help to move it up in priority. |

| I reported this ages ago.. it's a simple one liner or perhaps a few lines of code but really easy and yet it hasn't been fixed. Then again, adding a simple INVITE to the REGISTER reply only took 1.5 years and that's most definitely a single line of code to be changed.
