I bought a SPA400 used on ebay, and I want to make sure that there isn't any leftover messages taking up space. Is there anyway to a) reformat the drive to defaults or 2) manually check it (on a laptop) for data? I found a page on linksys' support that said it had to have /lib /var /usr folders - it looks like linux - i don't want to screw it up by accessing it with windows. Thanks!

As long as you don't write anything to it and delete anything, why are you afraid to plug the stick into your Windows box? I'd expect the stick to be ext3 formatted anyway but then I've never bothered to check.

Just a followup to my own question... I put the USB in my laptop - turns out it's FAT formatted, and I found some old data on it. In fact, I found old messages (.gsm audio format) from the previous owner that I was able to listen to with quicktime. Consider that security issue for a moment... Unfortunatly, it was all G rated. Anyway, there was a folder called \pbx-sipura-test\that contains folders for all of the extensions. I deleted anything there that was not part of my extension scheme, and everything still works just fine. I wonder if I could copy the contents of this stick to another FAT-formatted stick and have more storage... With an office of 8 people, I think we'll be fine - just thinking out loud...
