| Hi, Setup: I have one SPA 9000 as my IPPBX with one SPA 400 and 4 SPA962 phones all connected to a Linksys POE switch. I have defined QoS on the switch. The SPA 400 is configured on LINE 1 for SPA 9000 and LINE 2 is being used as a backup for line 1 with an ITSP account with Call Centric. SPA 400 is configured and I can make outgoing calls using 4 analog lines connected to SPA 4000. However here are my issue: After struggling with the setup for past 4 days I have managed to get most of the things in place. However I cannot access Voicemail from the SPA 962 phone when I use the VM button to access the voicemail. The phone very briefly displays: 1. Calling (Ready) To:Voice Mail vmm and then exits out, displaying the default screen again. I need the VM button to dial out to the VM server (SPA400) so everyone can configure and access their voice mail. I can make all regular calls, and can leave messages for extensions, but just cannot access those Voice mail. Any help you be highly appreciated. Thanks, Mik |

| Can someone please post the files that come on the USB key with SPA400 ? I fear I have some files that are corrupted causing these issues. Thanks, Mik |

| If you find a solution please post, I'm having the same problem! I had this problem a while ago and a prolonged power cycle seemed to solve it.. it was as if the spa400 wasn't recognizing the VM accounts i had created on it. I recently had to reconfigure the system and now it is happening again, but this time the long power cycle after updating is not helping ..next time I am at the office I will try and post those if you want them (don't know if they are much help if I am having the same problem). | I have nearly tired everything. On looking into SPA9000 logs on a syslog server, I found out that SPA9000 forwards the calls to SPA400, but SPA400 does not recognize it at all. However, when I change the 'vmm' command to access voice mail with 'vm" I can hear the greeting message, which make me believe that voice mail manage (vmm) command is having issues in SPA400. I ended up subscribing to inphonex so I can use external voice mail till this issue is resolved. Thanks, Mik |

| Your log findings are essentially the same as what I found when I went through this a few months ago.. I think vmm essentially tries to retrieve voice mail using the Mailbox Manage URL specified for the line and extension listed in Mailbox ID on the phone settings. I was able to successfully bypass the vmm command by using the Mailbox Manage URL (ie: 800@IP_of_spa400:5090) in place of vmm. The only downside of this is the user has to enter their VM ID (extension) manually at prompt.. the upside is you can check any VM from any phone (if you know the ID and password)! Since this works, it is my guess that there is a problem with the spa9000, not the spa400.. but since it does work, I don't really care what the problem is for now. EDIT: I just found out that the default provisioning of the phones makes them default back to 'vmm'.. unless you have a way to edit the provisioning of the phones to this configuration, turn off provisioning for the phone.
