| I just received a WIP300 today. Here are my initial observations:
|
| |||
| Unofficially, the WIP300 is a "work in progress".. And it has nothing to do with the SPA product line (and speaking of which, I'm being told the SPA400 isn't a Sipura box either.. whereas looking at the configuration page of the PAP2T, it is so similar to an SPA2000 that I think they are somehow connected). If you need handsfree, it's better to resort to a headset anyway, cramping the phone between your head and shoulder only makes chiropractors happy |

| I confirmed with Linksys support that there is no way to place a call without being registered with a SIP server. Also, there doesn't seem to be any way to transfer a call with this phone. I know this seems too incredible to be true, but if it is there, it is well hidden. Doug |

| Transfer need SIP REFER (RFC 3515).. and the phone doesn't support it. I'm looking at alternative WLAN phones now.. I just got the F3000 and it has its own bag of problems.. it can't even register on the SPA9000, and either my battery is shot right out of the box, or the device has never heard of power saving.. the battery runs out in just a few hours of idle time despite a datasheet saying it should do 50 hours. |
