| Hi all! I'm reading thru this forum couple of days already and still can't figure out which adapter to get, this is what I want to accomplish at least for now,
I also have lingo.com unlimited plan so that gives me even more ideas, so far I narrowed down to those there,

| This is true. SPA3102 is your ATA. If you find SPA 3000 in the market, it should function the same as 3102 but it does not have a built in router. You will register line 1 with Voicediscount. You will register the PSTN with a FWD account. |

| It is not a matter of voting. The three models are totally different from one another. 1001 is a single SIP account with one FXS port (that's to say, you cannot connect a PSTN line to it). PAP2 is the same as 1001 but it allows and manages two SIP accounts simultaneously. Each of the SIP accounts has its own RJ-11 FXS port. To the best of my knowledge the two accounts cannot be programmed with (or talk to) one another. The PAP2 is simply two 1001s sharing the same power supply and the LAN port. SPA3102 allows you to connect a PSTN Line (FXO port). It also has an FXS port to connect an analog telephone set(s). The SPA 3102 allows you to register two SIP accounts one for the LINE 1 (which goes to the FXS port) and another one for the FXO port (PTSN) line. The SPA 3102 allows two simultaneous telephone calls, one made by the LINE 1 and the second is made by the PSTN. In your case you can make a telephone call using VoIPDiscount from the telephone connected to the FXS port. On the same time someone may be calling your FWD account and gain access to the PSTN line while you are making the call from the FXS port. The SPA3102 also has additional 4 sip gateways for outgoing calls. These gateways can be used by both the FXS port and the PSTN port. It needs some programming in your dial plans. In short, the only model that can provide you with access to your SIP account through a PSTN line and vise versa is the SPA3102. |

Mostly correct... the only thing is the SPA1001 also supports 2 independent SIP accounts (from 2 different providers).. just need to get the SE firmware from the Linksys (or Sipura if it still exists) website.

| rizsher I believe what you mentioned about a SPA-1001 is not a two accounts feature. I guess your account registered with the SPA-1001 is a 2-channel account which accepts making two calls by putting one on hold to make a new one. The PAP2 allows you to make two calls independent from one another, in other words you have two separate lines. That’s why you have two FXS because you can register two separate accounts and assign each FXS to each account. |
