Default VOIP Newbie, SPA 3000 on Gossiptel doesn't register...

Hi.

I'm a total newbie to VOIP, so I'm kind of stranded, having bought myself a SPA 3000 (with NO DOCUMENTATION?!?).

I'm in Iceland, and I have a UK Gossiptel account. The problem is that I have not managed to get the SPA 3000 to log onto Gossiptel's network.

To be clear on my setup: SPA3000, web interface OK, Phone plugged into "phone", telephone line plugged into "line". The command **** only works when I unplug "line", is this right? (The telephone currently works fine through the fixed line)

I would like to be able to make phonecalls using eigher my fixed line or the VOIP (selecable by a pin I assume?).

Voxilla's 'Configuration Wizard' doesn't seem to change this, so I'm wondering if there is anybody out there who could help me?!?

I've used the following details on the 'Configuration Wizard' just to be sure...

1. 192.168.0.2
2. Gossiptel
3. My Name
4. 930XXXX [My Gossiptel Account Number]
5. [Blank]
6. [My Gossiptel Password]
7. Gossiptel
8. My Name
9. 930XXXX [My Gossiptel Account Number]
10. [Blank]
11. [My Gossiptel Password]
12. ([2-79]11<:@gw0>|xx.|*xx.|**xx.|<#1,:>xx.<:@gw1>|<#9,:>xx .<:@gw0>|<#9,:>*xx<:@gw0>)
13. (xx.|*xx.|**xx.|#xx.)
14. (xx.|*xx)
15. PSTN Ring Thru Line 1: Yes,
PSTN Ring Thru Delay:5
VoIP Answer Delay: 1
PSTN Answer Delay: 5
16. VoIP Caller PIN: 1111
PSTN Caller PIN: 2222
17. GMT
18. Submit...

After uploading the settings onto the SPA3000, the "Line 1" Registration State on the info page says: Failed. The PSTN Line Status "Registration State" says: Not Registered.

I'm not entirely sure about why I can enter my service provider twice, in Line 1 and VoIP/PSTN Gateway Services.

Please help,

Regadrs,

Michael Paert

Default Gossiptel Registration

Michael,

This sounds like a firewall/NAT traversal problem.

What form of NAT/firewall are you using and how are you currently dealing with the NAT Traversal? (e.g. STUN or Outbound Proxy?)

James
