I downloaded the utility but could not make it work. I draged the Sipura Icon to the new file area and it says "unable to get configuration from Sipura". I did load the IP address of the Sipura earlier. What am I doing wrong? Do I need default passwords for the utility to work?

Hi Digitize,

The program currently doesnt work if you have an admin password on your Sipura. You can remove the password, then use the program, then add the password after.

Andrew

No Trash Can icon visible. FileSize 635904 bytes.
Just D/L again, and did a file compare. Still the same.

Also, doing multiple backups (assigning different cnf names), without changing anything, is resulting in different size backup files.
Comparing the backups, shows many options not in there.

Besides that, works for me.

Do you have a lookup list for the ASCII cnf file, those numbers make it hard to compare cnf, to see exactly what is different between backups.

thanks

Mark

Sorry about that Mark.

I have uploaded a new copy. There is also a file named SipuraConst.inc that contains the mappings of number to name. The numbers weren't my doing, its the way the sipura references the data. It does make it a bit tough to spot the differences though. The file was generated from a capture from the Sipura to the web browser, so you will probably find duplicate names in there. If you view the source from your web browser, then you should be able to determine what numbers are what. I intend to clean up this file at a later date to remove the ambiguity.

When I was testing the program, I captured what was being sent to the Sipura and compared it with what I constructing. I then used WinDiff to check for errors. Last tests indicated there were no errors, but there was some character translations involved and I may have missed some. If you have any details on the erorrs I would be interested in knowing about them.

Regards,
Andrew

Andrew,

Thanks, that one has the Trashcan

I was just going thru the web page source, and noticed the relation there. But the .inc file saves me time.

Also, I tracked down the mismatch in file size. When you create a New File, it appears to be only 16K approx, but if you then drag the SPA icon onto the new filename, the resulting save is 32K +

So, I assume the New File is something of a default, or maybe missed data (my firewall might be slowing things down).

Only got my SPA3000 yesterday, and have read and reread the docs I have gleaned off the NET about 5 times now. I am using this utility to keep track of my playing with settings, so I can rollback when I stuff up

Only got my DialPlan to do now, but as I write Call Accounting software for last 12 years and am a PBX tech (25 yrs), this is proving to be fairly easy, as it mimics closely what I already do on PBX's. Then it's onto the OnDo PBX, to see what I can do. This should be fun....

Thanks again for a great utility.

Mark

I checked through the save file and it saves the data twice. So for example if you are saving off a 3000 and a 2000 config and you save the 3000 first you'll see that config information in the 2000 file. I don't know if that breaks your ability to restore the data or not, I haven't tried yet.

Mark,

Thanks for the info. I'll have a look at it tomorrow and post my findings. I don't like the idea of it saving it twice. You don't know which one it may restore.

Thanks again,
Andrew

Removed the password and it works like a champ. Thanks! Hey I vote that this utility should be a sticky in this forum.

Hi Mark,

I found the problem. It was appending the next set of data without clearing the list first.

The bug is fixed and there is a new version on the web site. Thanks for the details, they made it easy to locate

Regards,
Andrew

Andrew,

That has done the trick. Working fine now.

And thanks should go to daevod as well, who worked out it was doubling the data, I hadn't got that far, just assumed the first save was wrong.

One question. What happens to the provider passwords, as they are saved as '*********', and therefore, when restored to the SPA, is the SPA ignoring them, or overwritting with incorrect password. causing registration failure? Haven't checked this out myself yet.

Yes, this utility should be a sticky.

Mark
