Default Utility to save/load SPA3000 configurations (added PAP-2)

Hi all,

After getting sick of messing around re-entering my configuration settings a number of times (it gets longer each time I have finally written a basic configuration save for the SPA3000.

If you want to try it, it can be downloaded from http://www.dualarrow.com

I dont guarantee anything (other than I have no spyware/viruses in the code, but please scan it anyway).

I have used it sucessfully on my SPA3000 and have saved and loaded a few configurations.

There is some very basic help in the program. Read it first to see how to use the program.

Post your comments/suggestions here.

Regards,
Andrew

Seems to work fine..... My Norton AV did not detect anything, my firewall did not yell for help, and the config files are clear ASCII, which is a big plus in my book...... All I can say is a big THANK YOU!

Andrew,

The utility is excellent. It worked flawlessly for both my SPA3000 and SPA-2000. May I be the first to present you with a wish list for the next version? I would like to see (in no particular order):

- A drag 'n drop trash can for unwanted files.
- The ability to create (and delete) a separate, labeled icon for each Sipura in the network. The Icon should be labeled with both the familiar name (which was typed in, like the storage file name) and the IP address of the target SPA. There's a good possibility of restoring an image to the wrong device the way this version has the "configuration" working.

Even if you never make these improvements I will enjoy using your utility very often. I frequently use my own equipment to bench test configurations for my clients, and your utility makes it painless to restore my own configuration when my testing is done.

Congratulations on a job very well done.

Michael

Config files are created in the same directory where the executable is; deleting unwanted config files is trivial, as their names are clearly marked. Adding the capability of managing more then one device, as suggested above, would be first on my wish list for improvements

Great addition! Thanks for your efforts. I, for one, don't even have mine yet, so it would be fun to create a "dummy file", which then could be loaded onto the 3000 when it arrives. But, it seems I can't do this (at least yet).

Brilliant effort. One improvement (unless its already there, and I'm missing it) would be to allow non standard ports in the SPA address, I change mine to 1234 to allow me to access the SPA over the internet remotely, so, the address I use to get to the access page is http://192.168.1.100:1234/admin/advanced. When I try 192.168.1.100 or 192.168.1.100:1234, and drag and drog the spa icon to the new file, I get a msg saying Unable to get Configuration for the Sipura. I know its jsut a matter of removing 1234 from spa config when I'm making a config backup, but.... why not

rizsher,

You should be able to specify non-standard ports for the server by placing the following into the configuration option.

192.168.1.100:1234

Similar to your web browser.

Andrew

mberlant

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. There should be a trash can above the sipura icon. If not then let me know and I'll upload the current version again (I though I put it there )

As to the suggestions for multiple devices, a good idea. I only have one but I'm happy to add support for multiple devices. You may have to live with this version for a bit as I dont have a lot of time to code.

I'll probably try to split the screen in 2 and have the left half containing configurations and the right half containing devices so you can drag and drop across halves.

Regards,
Andrew

Yep,

Sorry, I havent got it working with the passwords. You would need to remove the password, use the utility, then add the password back.

I'll have to see if I can get this working as I prefer to have a password too.

Andrew
