Default UK SPA 3000 problems line 1 to PSTN

Hi All,

I've just got an SPA 3000 and got VOIP calling working within minutes ... but I've got problems calling through to the PSTN.

To test this out I configured up Line 1 with a simple dial plan to send 123 calls through to the PSTN (123<:@gw0>).

However when I dial 123 all I hear is very, very brief buzz of the PSTN tone and then nothing until I get the voice saying "number not recognised".

So it's connecting through to the PSTN (something that also is confirmed by the status page and by picking up another phone on the line) but it's for some reason not successfully dialling the number.

Impedance is set as per UK recommendations - i.e. 370+620||310nF.

Any ideas? Or anyone out there with it working in the UK who would be kind enough to post their Regional and PSTN Line settings screens?

Thanks,

Brian

The problem seems to be in your Line 1 Dial Plan.

You have (<S0999:@gw0>|<##:@gw0>|*xx|*:@gw0).

It should be (for your testing) (999S0<:@gw0>|<##,>xx.<:@gw0>|*xx|123S0<:@gw0>).

Keep in mind the structure of <strip:insert> function. Your first element said, for example, that when you dial 999 the SPA should immediately dial nothing via the PSTN Line.

Default Sorted my own problem

Hi,

Sorted my own problem in the end ...

I realised that only two digits were getting through to the PSTN side and so figured it must be a DTMF thing ... so I changed the DTMF Playback Level in the miscellaneous section of the regional tab from -16 to -12 and then all works fine.

Regs,

Brian
