| This was said 6 month ago, from Kevin270. Re: Caller ID detection on the SPA400 That's the guy! Victor. He's basically no help at all. I feel sorry for him, but at the same time I don't feel that he should be on the front line for Linksys support because he does not know what he's talking about. Sometimes it seems as though he's making stuff up. It's good to get a response, but it's not much good if the response is not answering any of the questions asked. So at this point I'm just giving up on it. I won't be purchasing any SPA products until I find out that Linksys has addressed the following issues: 1.) allowing the SPA9000 to request a specific FXO line from the SPA400. 2.) allowing the SPA9000 to deposit and retrieve voicemail using the FXS phones, or non-SPA9xx phones ############################# Humba3 and Kevin270, I found this story interesting and also very helpfull, BUT now I already have this PBX 9000 (SPA400) working and with just a few problems to be solved. I decided to buy this product anyway but I just thought that those PROBLEMS were going to be solved quicker. (Linksys) Those 2 questions that HE (Kevin) adressed is or was allready fixed (at least part of it). Are other ways around to do some of those things using the SPA3k's ??? Maybe I have missed some minor details that I read in others POSTS. I have 1-SPA9K 1-SPA400 8-SPA942 and 4-3K's, things are working Ok. My MAIN Problem now is "Caller ID" (on the SPA400) and "Voice-Mail for the PSTN" (on the SPA3102). When I plug a PSTN Line on the SPA400 I do not get any Caller ID, but I have the VM working, AND if I plug the same Line (PSTN) at the PSTN through the SPA3k than I get the opposite, I have the Caller ID but NOT the VM. That's funny. Here in my country we use "DTMF" not "FSK" , but are so many different types of DTMF and FSK that I don't know which one is going to be the PERFECT one for me, and if Linksys allready came out with a Caller ID for my country (Brazil) for the SPA400. Can somebody help me or give me any clue. . . . . . AND how about those "Converters" are they supposed to work (if ,so , what Model and Brand you sugest). I already try one, that I paid 20,00 US$ for it, but it shows me the NUMBER Ok but the Line becomes a "Complete SILENCE" you can not hear any one. I have to use 1 converter for each (PSTN) Line, if it works. Why ??? When I plug the PSTN Lines to the SPA3k's I can have the Caller ID working. and on the SPA400 it does NOT WORK; if both are build from the same Company (Linksys) . . . . and the SPA3k are an older product. WHY THAT ??? maybe, am I doing somethig wrong ? Now I'm using the "Bellcore America/China" or "North American" on bouth of them. I think I allready try all of those other choices. I just don't understand, WHY, and I'm realy getting frustrated with this. Thank's , for any help in advance Felipe |

| I went through the 9000/400 manuals looking for a way to set the disconnect tone format but I can't find it and after searching on various forums I understood that the 9000/400 doesn't have the equivalent of Regional tab in SPA3102, everything is preset from factory for different regions. CID, disconnect tone may not be correct if the 9000/400 doesn't come from a local distributer. |
