I have the following problem. There is a router in my network, the SPA is behind it, connected to a switch. The switch has no free ports and I had to unplug one of the computers. Now it is connected to the Sipura, but when I try to print on one of my network printers or establish a connection with an InterBase Server I get an error. Is it possible to set the SPA to work like a swith and not like a router? I want to be able to access files on the computer, print on remote printers and so on.How do I do that? My firmware is 3.3.6. |

I'm afraid that's not possible. Only IP hardphones with two LAN ports have switching capabilities (some like the GXP2000 can also be used as a router). If you set up the routing properly, you can still use your PC behind the SPA though, but that means that PC is behind two NATs.. that'll work for regular PC initiated connections, but going the reverse way is going to be tough and will require some static NAT-ing. The most trouble free thing would be getting another switch.. those 5 port 100mbit ones are dirt cheap.

Hmm I don't see why not humba3. Estario, you need to go to the LAN setup tab and select "bridge" instead of NAT in the network service selection. You should then be able disallow the NAT essentially disable the router part of the 3102

Hopefilly it will work. I Have another question. There is a "Syslog Server Adress" field under System settings? What would be recorded if I enable this option? All calls made? Is there a way to keep a detaild log on everything the SPA has done?

The bridge function certainly works. That is how my 3102 is set up at present.

Hmpf... it does work indeed. I recall the LAN port not working as I expected when I set my SPA9000 in bridge mode, but I may have misconfigured something. I now tried switching my SPA2102 to bridge mode, and with turning DHCP off, the device behind the SPA works like a charm.

You need to turn WEB access (wan) on and set an access port ... say 8080. It does not have to be open to the outside world.
