Default SPA3000 Panasonic KXT-D1232 PBX issues

I have installed a SPA3000 in back of a Panasonic KXT-D1232 PBX...

The basic system work, but there are a few odd thing that I need some help on.

1) If I make a call from the PBX to the SPA3000 via the FXO port, the call works just fine, but when I hang up from the PBX side, it take the PBX and SPA3000, 60-120 second to break the connection.

2) If I make a call to a number that rings but no answer, the SPA3000 abandons the call after about 60 seconds... What parameter in the SPA3000 controls this time?

On the Info page, when the PSTN Line is idle, what do you see for PSTN Line Voltage? In a normal telephone system is should be -48VDC. Some small PABXes and EKTSes deliver much less, assuming that the telephones connected will be much closer to the switch than a real telephone customer might be to the Central Office.

If you find that this Idle Line Voltage is smaller than -48V, you will need to adjust the Line-in-Use Voltage to be about 7V smaller than that number.

Yes, I have had that problem before...

KXT-D use a -28v talk battery, so I have it set at 18v... when off hook, we get 7v.

Also the busy/re-order tone are odd, so I used a spectrum analyzer to map the tones and cadence of the unit, but its still not working... (350hz, 440hz)

KXT-D do not have CPC on disconnect, a real pain...

lafleur,

Any chance you could outline your configuration from default settings? I am trying to use an SPA3000 to extend an extension on my Toshiba PBX accross my ethernet LAN.

I appreciate any help you can offer.

Scott

Lafleur,

Look at what I did to tweak my disconnect tone, it might be just what you are looking for.

I did just about what you did... I use an audio spectrum analyzer with an FFT to detect the tone and a O-Scope to look at the cadence.

thanks...
