Default SPA3000 Line 1/PSTN

I have a SPA3000 that is working some how. I can make calls through voip. If someone calls my pstn number it rings. I don't have an incoming voip number so I can not test that.
When making calls how do I know if I am using voip or the pstn line?
Can someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks

TelSat

Have you read the Sipura User Guide (www.sipura.com/support)? Better yet, have you read any of the myriad postings here that discuss the SPA3000 and how to craft a Dial Plan to exploit its gateway features?

How did you configure the SPA3000? Did you use the Voxilla Wizard? If you did, then your Line 1 Dial Plan is already configured to allow you to choose which service each call uses.

I have read the sipura user/administrator guide but too much technical jargon that I don't know.

No I have not do that, I would guess myriad is a user/poster of this forum?

No, I configured it manually because I am using Teliax (pay as you go) and is not on the list on the wizard. The only thing I did was enter the sip server and register.

I don't have call display on my pstn line and yesterday the phone told me that I had missed two calls and those calls were made to my pstn number.

Thanks for replying.

There are "dial plans" which handle outbound calls. The most basic case, which sounds like what you are trying to clarify, is what line does the phone use for my outbound calls. The phone connects to the FXS port, which is associated with Line 1 (see the drawing in the users guide in section 4.2, page 40). If you look at the configuration tab for Line 1 you'll see the dialplan for Line 1. The choice to use one line or the other is controlled by this plan.

For more detail, I would read through and search for dial plans, as Michael suggested. There is a wealth of data there, without having to read through the detail of the users guide. However, unless you've explicity included items in your dial plan to use gw0, everything is going via the VoIP line.
