Can someone translate the release note highlights into layman's terms?

Sipura is quite confused as to whom their friends are. Very sad.

Actually, I do have one question. Which firmware should I be using?

Here's what I have now:

Software Version: 3.1.3(GWa)
Hardware Version: 2.0.1(42a8)

(I just upgraded the software...) Should I have used the 2.0.13g software version? I just got this SPA3000 from Voxilla. Is it supposed to be hardware version 3 or something? What's the difference between the two firmware options listed on the sipura website for this device?

Thanks!

Hey hstraf,

Even though you have hardware version 2, you'll have no problems using software version 3+.

Phil.

Thanks Phil. When was hardware version 3 released? Should I be asking Voxilla why I got an "older" SPA3000, or does it matter. Is there an advantage to a version 3 unit instead of hardware version 2?

Thanks!

Hey hstraf,

To be honest I don't know if there is a hardware version 3 for the SPA3000. I wouldn't really worry about any differences between hardware versions, the only differences would be minor "tweaks" made by Sipura to iron out any problems with the original hardware version. You have a version 2 so *IF* there were any problems they wouldn't exist in yours.

NB: I don't know about this for sure: I'm just guessing. If your SPA works then you've got nothing to worry about

Phil.

Thanks again Phil.

The SPA3000 is way more complicated then I had anticipated, and I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out how to get it working with my VoIP provider... but I'm learning, and hopefully I'll get it going soon.

I figured a firmware upgrade to the latest version is "step one" of getting things working.

Cheers! (Wish me luck.)
