Default spa3000: disable off-hook detection on pstn line?

I have two spa3000s set up in a point to point configuration, where one is connected to ths pstn line and the other just has a phone attached to it (lets call this the voip phone). The network is just between two apartments in the same building.

If someone picks up the voip phone and THEN someone picks up a phone on the pstn line, they can talk to each other just like picking up multiple phones in the same household.

But if someone picks up a phone on the pstn line and THEN someone picks up the voip phone, the voip phone makes a sound like a busy signal. I assume the busy signal indicates that the line is in use. Is there a way to disable the busy signal and still allow the voip phone to talk to someone on the pstn line? Perhaps I need to disable some sort of off-hook detection on the pstn-connected spa?

Why do I care? For an incoming call on the pstn line, phones on the pstn line will ring and the voip phone will ring as well. If someone answers the phone on the pstn line first, I want someone to still be able to pick up the voip phone to see if someone has already answered to phone or to see if the call is for him or her instead.

Ideally, there would be a method for someone on one side to send a ring to the other side to have them pick up the phone, but I guess I'll have to use my cell phone to call their cell phone for that to work. Or stick my head out the window and shout, "It's for you!!!"

Thanks!

You just have to change "Line-In-Use Voltage" under the PSTN Line tab. If you change that value (not sure if it's supposed to be lower or higher), it shouldn't be detected when the line is in use or not.

The Line-In-Use Voltage specifies the voltage under which a line is concidered in use; if the voltage drops below that value, the line is in use. Setting it to zero will never detect the line in use. That may be what you're looking for.

I just dropped the voltage from 30 to 10 and it works! I'll have to do more testing, but it looks good so far. Thanks a lot!!!
