Default SPA3000 both lines with BroadVoice...

Hi All,

Read all the old post to see if there was an answer there. If there is I must have missed it. Hope this is a new topic. Please realize that I am new to VoIP.

I need to configure both ports on the SPA3000 with BroadVoice service, two different numbers and two different plans. Have line one working with BroadVoice. The problem is line two. I called tech support at BroadVoice, they were as helpful as they could be since they are not familar with the SPA-3000 at all, yet. Made the changes they suggested but with no luck. When I dial even **** on line two, I get nothing. I will not be using any of the PSTN option now or at anytime in the next year at least.

Any ideas?

Best Regards,

Morgan

Morgan,
What do you mean by LINE TWO. The spa3k has only LINE1 port (FXS) and PSTN port(FXO)?

Sorry for the silly question but Are you triying to connect a handset to the PSTN port and then dial from there? If so that won't work because the PSTN port is FXO and a handset needs a FXS port to work.

If you want to know what FXS and FXO is go to http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-FXO

Default Did I misunderstand?

Hi Montoya,

I had read a post by PhonBoy that I thought ment that it was either or, e.g. FXS line one and FXS or FXO for line two. Did I misunderstand? Do I understand corectly that the SPA-2000 both lines are FXS?

Best regards,

Morgan

On a SPA3000, there is one FXS port and one FXO port. You can have one VoIP-type service that you can use normally and one VoIP-type service purely for SIP to PSTN or PSTN to SIP gateway functions. While I've said otherwise before, I've been set straight by Sipura on this. The SPA-3000 does allow for more than one outbound service.

The SPA-2000 has two FXS lines and you can have two independent VoIP services on each line.

Hi,

Well life happens. If I find that post again, I will post a link to this post so others will know. What a great feature that would have been. Maybe that can be in the SPA-4000.

Best to all,

Morgan
