| This issue was covered in a variety of topics but none of them really helped me because all of them assume that you know your password or know how to do a reset and so on. When replying to my problem please be most clear. Saying something like "factory reset your SPA3000" doesnt help because I don't know how! Ok here is the problem in details: I was using voicepulse for some time with no problems. I have cancelled my account yesterday and now I am trying to configure to Broadvoice, to which I've just switched. I tried the SPA3000 config wizard, filled in all values but then it would ask for the admin login info (user name and password) and I don't know neither of them. Of course I tried the defaults like: user:admin pass:admin user:admin pass user:admin pass user:admin pass none of these helped. Then I tried to make a hard reset on the box, and made an extensive search on the net. Found out that, when I plug out the ethernet port and use the phone to access the menu I could hard reset it. It was told that: **** for the menu 73738# for the reset however after entering 73738# the phone asks for a password again!! Well I HAVE NO PASSWORD!!! All the password that I have is the broadvoice account password. I really need to set this up quickly because I use VOIP as the primary line. I have no cell phone nor PSTN line. You may say it is not right to stick to VOIP THAT much, but that is not the issue now. PUHLEEEESEEEE HEEEELP |

| So they can remotely lock MY adapter? This is really ridiculous. This is the only reason that I bought the adapter myself. If they could lock my adapter I would rent their adapter, why pay while I can have it for free? I don't think it will happen, but what if they refuse to provide me with the password? Won't I be able to use my adapter anymore? And as far as I know I can use multiple VoIP services by my SPA3000 however, if one of the services lock my SPA-3000, how will I ever add additional services to it? Does BroadVoice lock the adapter as well? After all, why do they lock the adapter? are they trying to make it harder to switch away from them so that I will use their services just in order to be free from the hassle of unlocking the adapter? Does all the providers do this? And thank you for your answer.. |

| How may you 'hard reset' a Sipura you bought yourself? |

That's why I never sign up for any service that requires me (as a provison of using their service) to let the service provider "remotely provision" my adapter! And for the many services out there that "suggest" that you setup them with "remote provisioning", I ignore that suggestion and manually configure the adapter with their service anyway! So what is being said is accurate. You will have to get the company that locked your adapter to unlock it, or somehow talk LinkSys into unlocking your adapter (even harder)! Hopefully a reputable company will unlock your adapter when you drop their service, because they will realize that the adapter really is your property. But since remote provisioning lets the company do what they want to your adapter, it also lets thm "lock your adapter" remotely (even if/when it is your personal "unlocked" property). For the future (if you manage to get VP to unlock your adapter), try turning off remote provisioning, and doing your setup yourself (either manually or with the Voxilla.com Wizards). To turn off remote provisioning (again AFTER you talk VP into "unlocking" your adapter, because remote provisoning may be required for them to complete the unlock), just go over to the "Provisioning" tab, and set "Provision Enable: no". By setting "Provision Enable: no", then no service provider will again be able to "lock" your equipment (because you are turning off their ability to remotely control your equipment)!!! |

| Since ****RESET asks for a password you will need to get that password from VoicePulse. As long as the service you cancelled was in good standing you should have no problem obtaining the password from VP.
