Default SPA 942's not doing attended transfer on Zultys

Hiya Guys,

i was hoping somebody would help me, im running a Zultys MX-250 Switch and im connecting up lots of SPA942's, the problems i am having is that the phones wont do an attended transfer...

the way im doing it is...

Caller A recieves call
Caller A presses CFWD then announces the call to Caller B
Caller A then presses CFWD again to push the call through
Caller A is then removed
External Caller is put on hold and Caller B cant hear anything!

Please help im about to roll alot of these out! i really like the phones but if this doesnt work then they arent going to get the order!

Thanks for any help!

Martin

Hello martinking,

I have an MX250 with many spa942/962 and hitachi ip5000.

Transfer works fine, but differently between Linksys and Hitachi. Linksys sends the call to a second line and hitachi on the same. That means, that when Caller A presses CFWD again to push the call through, External Caller hears a dial tone until Caller B picks up line 2 (which is blinking). On the contrary, Hitachi joins the two parties.

To do that, you have to make the Linksys devices "managed" and state in their profile that they can handle 4 lines. If you want them to be "unmanaged", make at least two registrations from each linksys phone to the zultys. In other words, enable ext1 and ext2 with the same user credentials. In zultys, you'll see double registrations (ports 5060 and 5061).

That's all

Best Regards
Spyros

PS: If you know a way to make Linksys phones transfer the call on the same line, please share it. The problem I am facing is when I want to transfer the call (attended) to a gsm gateway (mobile phone) which don't always support 2 lines.

My experience with a handful of IPTSPs and two PBXes suggests that this problem most likely lies with your PBX - could it be that they don't implement REFER properly (that happens quite frequently)?

Get yourself a copy of the respective RFC, make SIP traces and compare. Then when you have identified the culprit device get in touch with the appropriate manufacturer (I'm pretty confident to say you shouldn't expect anything if the problem lies with Linksys.. but perhaps it doesn't).
