Default SPA-841 documentation?

I just received my SPA-841 from you, but it came with no documentation. I'd expect at least a quick start guide and I'd really like PDF of a complete manual. In the mean time I'll plug it in and see what I can figure out on my own. Should I have gotten any documentation in the box? Is there more comprehensive documentation available somewhere?

Following up my own post. I plugged it in and tried it out. Most of the options look the same as the other Sipura products so the ATA manual covers a lot of material that's appropriate for the 841 as well. There's still more details I'd like to see, but I suppose that'll come out eventually.

I really like the phone. It's got a great feel. The audio quality and the speaker phone seem very good, but I need to do more testing. The functionality looks very complete. It was pretty easy to setup since I know the SPA 3000.

The SPA-841 is a nice phone. I've had it for a few months in a pre-release form. The latest firmware seems to have solved a lot of the bugs.

The Wizards are going to have to be updated a little to support the SPA-841 since the web interface on the SPA-841 uses different codes.

I second that call for documentation. I just got mine today and after a few hours, I think I have it working how I want, but I keep discovering new stuff and options I don't have a clue what they do. Sipura's website doesn't have a manual.

It does seem like a really neat phone and does a lot (in some cases more than the Polycomm that a colleague of mine has).

I like the size of the SPA-841. It's small, compact, and got enough features. It has a headset jack, which is perfect for me.

Default A review?

I'm about to order 65 of these beasts for 2 offices.
Does anyone know of a good review of them? I use a SNOM 190 and am familiar with the Granstreams - where does the SPA-841 fall in terms of usablility and 'quality' - however subjective these may be....:-)

any words appreciated...

(i should point out i'm using them with asterisk and PRI ISDN...)

Default RE: A review?

I've never used the SNOM phones, but I can say that I've been using my SPA-841 for a few months now and am very satisfied with the results.

It has great software features and is very easy to setup but in my opinion is a piece of crap on the hardware standpoint. The buttons tend to stick depressed and I need to tap them to return. I don't understand why can't they get better quality hardware for an $90 phone when you can buy great speakerphones w/Caller ID for $20 at walmart.

I am keeping my fingers crossed. The post above about crap buttons is not encouraging. I would be interested to read more feedback about the quality of the buttons, speakerphone and handset, operation with Asterisk, suitability for businesses etc.

I have been waiting for a decent quality inexpensive IP phone that I can bundle with Asterisk and offer business class PBX systems for small businesses that are comparable in features and price to the proprietary systems out there. I do computer network support and sales so if I can offer phone systems using computer hardware it would tie in nicely and open up a lot of new opportunities for business. So far, I can't match the price of the proprietary systems unless I use crap Grandstream phones which are unacceptable quality and lack a lot of the proprietary business phone features such as multiline presence.

Default Docs Next Week

According to the response I got from Sipura support the docs are supposed to be out early next week. So they're sort of behind schedule but not too bad.
