Default SPA 3000 Wish List - More User 1 Speed Dials

Would it be possible to increase the number of User 1 Speed Dials on the 3000, as 8 is rather limited? Calling SIP addresses is impossible without them (ok you can add a few extra by using the dialplan), but 50 or so would be useful until ENUM gets sorted.

It is, but how else to do call SIP addresses form behind an adaptor? Like email, one of the big benefits with SIP is that you can call person to person, so when calling say a colleague at the office there

A SIP proxy might be in order in that case.

The easiest way, since you mentioned ENUM, would be to put a shortcut into your Dial Plan. There are two caveats that would make this simple. With any kind of luck they are true. First, all of these "colleagues" should have numeric names (the part of the URI before the @ sign). Second, all of these people should be in the same domain (or a relatively small number of domains, the part behind the @ sign).

So, if your typical colleague's address is 123456@sip.xyzcompany.com, you could set up a Dial Plan element that looks something like 8#,xxxxxx<:@sip.xyzcompany.com>, and call this user by dialing 8#123456. Of course, you would have to adjust this to your actual situation.

We have a SIP proxy in the form of an Ingate 1400 and the office hosting one SIP domain, I have an Intertex IX66 at home hosting three. How can I use these to help with my problem?

The other problem, like email people want to be joe@company.com or joe@sip.company.com not 87220374@company.com

More speed dials would solve the problem for me at home.

I think the IX66 might be able to help, though I have to admit I haven't fully groked all the features of the IX66 so I can't say for sure.
