I'm using the SPA 3000 as an FXO port for asterisk. The volume of the party on the PSTN side is very low. I've tried adusting the PSTN to SPA gain all the way to 12 (the documented maximum) and it is still to low. In fact anything above 8 and the sound will fade in and out. I have tried firmware version 3.1.7 and 3.1.3. No difference was noticable. Any ideas on correcting this?

I went back to 2.0.13 and the volume and quality is much better. The volume will still fluctuate durring a call. Not cool. I have 6 SPA 3000's in use at two different locations. All experience the same problems. If Sipura doesn't release a new firmware soon that corrects all these echo and audio problems soon, they are all getting replaced with Digium boards.

Don't know if this will work for you or if any of you tried this but I tried the following and it worked on my Spa2100... 1. changed gain on the input port (by itself didn't seem to improve much) then 2. changed the silence threshold to low on the affected lines. Then the gain seem to have an effect...
