| I have not received my SPA3000 yet, but it is in shipment. I ordered this unit as it is my understanding that I will be able to connect for my VOIP primary line, and also input from the wall jack for my regular land line. Is this capability confirmed? This will supposedly provide me ability to use an expandable cordless unit (probably Panasonic) with 2 lines that I can place/receive both land calls and VOIP calls throughout my home. One question I am unsure of, I actually have 2 land lines that I use and will keep for awhile. If I wanted to access from the Cordless telephones both land lines and the new VOIP line, I guess I will need to buy a 4 line Panasonic. Will the SPA 3000 have any issues with that type setup? |

| Great! Thank you, I anxiously await the arrival of the SPA 3000. Since my post, I thought of another possibility for hook up. I have a leftover from my business CentrePoint TalkSwitch, which is a Small Business Phone system. It has 4 line input (think I could bring in the VOIP line, and each of the 2 land lines), then it has 8 extensions outbound to any Single Line telephone. It's purpose is to route calls from any inbound line to the extension. It would seem that I could put the SPA 3000, configured for the VOIP line out put to the TalkSwitch. Also, One of the land lines into the SPA3000 with output to the TalkSwitch. Then the 2nd land line directly to the TalkSwitch. All the 3000 would do is route in its normal way to what it thinks is a pair of regular telephones or a normal cordless (but actually a phone system that would in turn route to my cordless.) Does that seem logical? I'll try it and see; guess that would be the only way to find out. FYI, here is a link if you want to the Phone System description. PS - It didn't cost that much when I bought it 5 years ago. http://www.hellodirect.com/catalog/P...7&PRODID=13783 |

| I would put the CentrePoint 4x8 to work and leave the PSTN Line half of the SPA3000 fallow for the time being. We can explore uses for this port later, but for now let's look at an initial configuration. I would set up the CentrePoint connecting your two line cordless phone to two extension ports of the switch. Connect your two PSTN lines to CO1 and CO2 of the switch. Assign either one or two access codes to this Trunk Group (9 or 9 and 8, for example), as you wish. I would then configure Line 1 for your VoIP provider and connect it to CO3 of the switch. Set it up on its own access code (8 or 7, as appropriate), so you can easily choose which line to use for a particular outgoing call. Configure all 4 CO ports to ring on all 8 extensions, and you are done. How does this sound?
