| I need to set up QoS on my NetEnforcer for the SPA-2100. I tried logging traffic from my SPA-2100's IP address during several telephone calls, but the only protocols NetEnforcer noted were the periodic ARP requests. I then tried using Ethereal to capture packets, also during telephone calls, and again, the only packets captured were the periodic ARP requests. I couldn't see any SIP or other (or even "unknown") protocols or activity during the telephone calls. I read the SPA-2100 documentation, and it says I should be able to detect SIP packets with Ethereal, but I cannot, and neither does my NetEnforcer. (It does detect the SIP-Vonage calls from other IP addresses using other equipment, but not the Sipura SPA-2100.) Does anyone know why I can't detect the traffic? Both Ethereal and the NetEnforcer software are up to date, so it's not a deprecated software issue. I'm somewhat at a loss as to what to do next. I need to be able to detect the traffic in order to shape it with the NetEnforcer. Please advise. |

| I sounds like you have a pc running ethereal and the spa2100 connected to a 100baseT switch. Inorder to see the packets the devices must be connected to a hub so all packets are propagated across all ports. If you have a hub try that. If not try the syslog utility and have the spa send the output to a pc running syslog deamon. |

| I'm the ISP network/system admin, so I see ALL the packets going across my network. (That's how I chase down idiots who plug their routers in backwards.) In any event, I'm trying to use the syslog utility, but no one seems to know the admin password to the Sipura box, and the default doesn't work. Does anyone know how to reset this? -Never mind--I finally found the COMPLETE instructions: ****73738# option 1 for resetting the password to the default.
