Default SPA 2002 ->Internet -> SPA 3000 Problems (inlc logs)

Hi,

I have been trying to move my VOIP system from being housed in one building, on one subnet to being seperated in two building on two networks and going through firewalls

So far I have got it so when you pick up the receiver connected to the 2002 at location B it attempts so gain a dial tone by connecting to the 3000. I can see this by my syslog logs.

I have come to a dead end though, I cant see why traffic would come in and route to my 3000, attempt to get a dial tone but then fail.

I have included the relevent part of the syslog logs for anyone who would like to share with me what the problem is

Regards

Ian

Norcott:

Your log doesn't help to much to see what is going on. Why don't you post your SPA2000 and SPA3000 configurations (Admin Advanced saved as HTML files) here explaining what you want to do, what you have done, what is working and what is not.

Below you will find my configuration files for my SPA 3000 and SPA 2002, hopefully someone will able to see where the problem lies!

What I am trying to do is just a simple point - to - point connection between our two offices. In office 1 I have my SPA 3000, this is connected to the DMZ of my firewall. with the PSTN line going into my PBX. The 3000 has a private address of 192.168.40.5, are public IP addrees however is 82.69.208.190. I have set up are firewall/router to allow UDP packets between ports 16384 and 16482 aswell as open up ports 5060 and 5061 and forward traffic from these ports to the SPA 3000.

In are 2nd office I have a similar setup, the SPA 2002 is connected to the DMZ of the firewall, it has a private IP of 192.168.50.5 and a public IP of 193.238.71.102. I have allowed UDP packets on ports 16384 and 16482 and set all traffic that comes in on ports 5060 and 5061 to route to the SPA 2002

I have the dial plan of each SPA pointing at the external IP of the other one aswell as the port on the end.

When I lift the receiver on the 2002 at office 2 I dont receive a dial tone however I had ethereal running on the 3000 end of the connection and it did receive a request from the 2002 as there were SIP requests and the IP of the 2002 had been in contact with the 3000.

I know this sounds very confusing (it does to me anyway!) but any help would be much appreciated!

If you would like anymore information then just ask

Thanks

Ian

I can see this:

In SPA2002's dial plan you have entered (S0<:82.69.208.19:5061>), but SPA3000's external IP address is 80.69.208.190. Can you see the difference? you are calling 82.69.208.19 but the real external IP address is 80.69.208.190; there is a missing 0 at the end (19 -> 190).

The same is happening with SPA3000 dial plan, you have (S0<:193.238.71.82:5060>) but the real external IP address for SPA2002 is 193.238.71.102

Fix it and try again.

I would recommend you to create a couple of FWD accounts and configure one on each device (try first in Line 1 and then move those to PSTN Line, try echo test and make sure everything is working fine) and try with these first. You problem could be a NAT or Firewall issue and using FWD would be easier to find out what the problem is.
