Default SPA-1000 Noise/Static on Line 1

I have a SPA-1000 that has a noticable amount of noise when I make a call. The noise is not bad and seems almost like "comfort noise". The question is: Does the 1000 generate comfort noise? If so, can it be turn off. If not, what can be done to fix the problem. I have changed phones and several other things, but the noise seems to be coming from the 1000. :?:

As far as I know, it doesn't generate comfort noise. You might want to change the FXS Port Impedence if you're outside the US. Check this thread for the right settings for your country: http://voxilla.com/forum-viewtopic-t-999.html

I am in the US and the impedance is 600 and the Gain is -3. Can you explain "FXS port power limit"? My setting is currently =3.
Thanks

FXS Power Limit is related the maximun REN (Ringer Equivalency Number) that the Sipura will support.
