| Hi, I had a problem with outbound dialing on my Sipura SPA3000 and fixed it..(, and then i've been spending some time banging my head against the wall for being so 'n00b') Incoming calls did come trough, outbound didn't work, the SPA3k-monitor shows a popup window 'dialing', and a few seconds later a popup with 'invalid call state'.). Also PSTN=Unregistered I thought that, as I was not doing VoIP yet (just FXS-to-FXO) Subscriber Information on the "PSTN Line" configuration page could be left empty, and registration just meant that it succesfully detected my PSTN line... I was wong. Now, i've entered in <Line1> as well as in <PSTN-line> the voipbuster data, just the proxy (sip.voipbuster.com), userID and password. I set <User1>Cfwd All Dest: "gw0" too. I've enabled: Make Call Without Reg / Ans Call Without Reg in the <PSTN-line> and <Line1>-window; as I thought this prevents authentication problems. (must still check what the security side-effects are) <Line1>Line1 dialplan: (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.) (don't use this setting) <PSTN Line>PSTN dialplan (1 - 8 ): (xx.) Disconnect tone: 450@-30,450@-30;1.4(.35/.35/1+2) must check this later! <PSTN Line:International Control>FXO port impedance: "220+820||120nF" (read it on some website) <Regional>Caller ID Method: "ETSI DTMF With PR" (KPN, the netherlands) <System>Primary NTP Server: your ISPs time server, in my case chime1.surfnet.nl Can anybody tell me what the difference is between the dial strings in the <Line1> and in the <PSTN-line> window? Anything with coming in on.. going out on..? Up to the next challenge |

| Hi SGI, I don't understand what your issue is. And I can only see your only One question. "Can anybody tell me what the difference is between the dial strings in the <Line1> and in the <PSTN-line> window? Anything with coming in on.. going out on..? " Dialplan in Line1 are for your analog phone<FXSport> outbound call. Therefore no authentication is needed. Dialplans(1-8) are for someone thru SIP remotely dialin to your SPA, authenticate and access the PSTN gateway to dialout a PSTN number. Depend on what PIN then enter, you can specify which dialplan they use to dial out. Hope that helps -Alex |

| Thanks, that was exactly what I needed to know. You can imagine, sometimes the best ideas for solving a problem only come when you try to explain the problems to other people, eg. in a forum like this one, I edited out my comments right after I solved it myself, as I don't want to use up precious time of people devoting help to SPA-users. FXO<->FXS communication is working now, as my post-title should have made clear. Deleting my own post just because it was solved (...and also because I was asking a n00b question) didn't seem fair to future n00bs with the same problem which will find it trough google Now i'm reading up on Asterisk, Enum, E164.org, NAPTR/SRV-dns records, and all the other interesting links google provides me. Just pondering on how I could make the best use of it all. |
