Default Sipura SPA-1001 Caller ID show sometimes "incomplete da

Hi, I have been using two Sipura SPA-1001, which I bought on voxilla store, without problems....
But I have a question that maybe could have a solution...
I'm using FWD on line one, and half of the times when other FWD user call me, on the caller ID of my phone (GE 5.8GHZ cordless phone) instead of the name of the user and number it shows "incomplete data", but the other half works good.
When this happens, I check on FWD web page and there on the history calls appears the number of who call me... So I guess it could be some configuration on the sipura which maybe need to be "tuned" or maybe my cordless phone sometimes have problem on understanding this CID information.....

So, if anyone have some idea to help is more than welcome....
On my sipura on Provisioning tab, Caller ID Method = Bellcore (N.Amer, China).
Thanks in advance
Manuel

Manuel,

It won't help much to look on FWD to determine if they are sending CallerID successfully to you. Look instead on the Info page of the SPA-1001 manager while the incoming call is in progress to see if FWD is sending you a clean CID. If the CID is clean, your problem is between your SPA and your phone. In that case, make sure that the Caller ID method is set to generate Caller ID using the technology acceptable to the cordless phone. Depending upon where in the world you are, the cordless phone may not be able to accept North American Caller ID signalling.

Another possibility, if you are in a country that uses North American signalling, is to be sure that you do not answer the phone call before the second ring, because that scheme sends the CID information just before the second ring.

Good luck.

Hi, mberlant
Thanks for you fast help!!!! I live on US and the cordless phone I bought it here... So the configuration I think is ok.... But I'm going to do what you recommend me, and look on the info page of my sipura when I receive the call... To see if the CID appears there when not appears on my phone...
About he second ring, yes I wait to the second ring... Is exactly like you say, ring once, and than just before the second ring appears the CID, but when goes wrong, just before the second ring shows "incomplete data".... My guess is that the phone is misreading what sipura is sending... but I will do this you recommend me to figure that out.
Thanks a lot again for your help
Manuel

PSTN Ring Thru Delay field must be at least 1 in PSTN Line tab, FXO Timer Values (sec) section, so SPA3000 is able to decode caller id information before starting ringing the phone connected to FXS. What value do you currently have in this field.?

Hi Juan C., I didn't find this tab and FXO timer values... Maybe because my sipura is SPA-1001 not the SPA3000 no? I have some options about FXS (which I don't no what is) under Regional tab.... Is close to the Caller ID method.....

FXS Port Impedance: 600
FXS Port Input Gain: -3
FXS Port Output Gain: -3

Thanks for your help
Manuel

Manuel:

Miscelaneous section is part of Regional tab, you must go to PSTN Line tab to see FXO Timer Values (sec) section (logged as Admin Advanced).

Hi Juan C., I know the information I have put was not what you had told me... But I couldn't find what you told me!! So I put this to you just in case it could be useful... I think maybe there is a little confusion here.. I have the Sipura SPA-1001, NOT the SPA3000....
When I login as administrator I have several tabs... But NONE is called PSTN Line. Here I send a Pic.... PSTN is the regular phone line no?
Anyway, thanks for your help
Manuel

Please apologize me and forget everything I have written.

Maybe you should re-wire from your SPA-1001 to your phone. It could be that the Caller ID data gets corrupted, maybe because of your cordless phone or other electrical devices putting noises on the line, or a bad connector...
