First, what I want to do: PSTN dial in - pass through to the attached phone, with no gateway functions enabled (device will be next to my demarc - house phone wiring to be routed through the S3K); Line_1 is FWD; nufone is gw1, and sipphone is gw2, with one more PSTN termination (mutualphone.com?) to be added soon as gw3. The idea is to use existing phones and house wiring, and allow for incoming calls on the land line to ring the same phones as IP calls. I will have a land line for a long time, both for DSL and 911 emergency services. For dial out, I want to use mainly gw1, and make it transparent to the rest of the household users. This puts some twists in the dialing structure: Dial out: 911 and 1800/1888/1877/1866 - PSTN; [01]x - nufone@gw1 (my area is 10 digit dialing, so all US numbers start with 1 for me and international calls start with 011); [2-9]x FWD; #1 prefix - Sipphone@gw2 (backup for nufone); #0 - PSTN over ride; #3-#9 - quick dial numbers; #2 reserved for mutualphone (gw3) override. After reading the FAQ and a lot of other posts, I came up with the following dial string: ([2-79]11S0<:@gw0>| 1800xx.<:@gw0>| 1888xx.<:@gw0>| 1877xx.<:@gw0>| 1866xx.<:@gw0>| [01]xx.<:@gw1>| [2-9]xx.| *xx.| **xx.| <#1,:>xx.<:@gw2>| <#0,:>xx.<:@gw0>| <#0,:>*xx<:@gw0>| <#3:613>S0| <#4:1393613>S0<:@gw2>| <#5,:**>S0<:@gw2>) ([2-79]11S0<:@gw0>| - 211, 311, 411, 511, 611, 711, and 911 are routed out the PSTN Line. 1800xx.<:@gw0>| - 1 800 followed by more digits, goes to PSTN 1888xx.<:@gw0>| - 1 888 followed by more digits, goes to PSTN 1877xx.<:@gw0>| - 1 877 followed by more digits, goes to PSTN 1866xx.<:@gw0>| - 1 866 followed by more digits, goes to PSTN [01]xx.<:@gw1>| - 0 or 1 followed by more digits, go out to gw 1, nufone (normal long distance and international) [2-9]xx.| - a dial string starting with 2,3...,9 goes to Line_1, FWD *xx.| - dial * then dial one or more digits, is routed out to Line 1, FWD **xx.| - dial ** then dial one or more digits is routed out to Line 1, FWD <#1,:>xx.<:@gw2>| - dial #1 then dial one or more digits goes to gw2, sipphone, no * or # allowed <#0,:>xx.<:@gw0>| - dial #0 then dial one or more digits for PSTN Line <#0,:>*xx<:@gw0>| - Dial #0* then two digits (PSTN Line, star codes). <#3:613>S0| - dial #3 for FWD 613 echo test (quick dial), should not need a "," after "#3" for Line 1 <#4:1393613>S0<:@gw2>| - dial #4 for echo test via sipphone <#5,:**>S0<:@gw2>)- dial #4 for sipphone "check my number" ** code, needs a "," after #4 Again, in my area code I have to dial out 10 digits for all calls (no 7 digit calling, thank you SBC!). I would appreciate some comments - it would be nice to know if there are problems with what I try to do or my dial string, before I spend a lot of time trying to make it work |

| Just one typo: <#2,:>[*x][*x].<:@gw2> needs another x before the period.
