You can't have a . (wait for more digits) and S0 (I'm finished dialing, so please send this call immediately) in the same Dial Plan element. If your dialed numbers are of fixed length, put the appropriate number of xes and keep the S0. If your dialed numbers are of variable length, drop the S0.

thank you for the quick repply. even if i followed your advise the problem was not corrected.
i still dial twice to get the correct number. I am pretty sure it should be something with the voltage but I do not know what to try or where to find the local settings of qatar

Also when I dial in from a PSTN i can use the VOIP. but I cannot do so from the phone attached to the SPA

I'm encountering exactly the same problem. The dial string I'm using (via the config wizzard) is:
([2-79]11<:@gw0>|xx.|*xx.|**xx.|<#1,:>xx.<:@gw1>|<#9,:>xx .<:@gw0>|<#9,:>*xx<:@gw0>)

tdoris,

Exactly what is going wrong for you? What is your network configuration? What service providers do you have configured for Line 1 and PSTN Line? What is going right for you? Are your two service providers successfully Registering? Have you set your impedance to match the Qatar phone company's requirements?

Please let us know just what is wrong, so that we can try to make it right.

My network configuration
Adsl -> router ->SPA3k-> telephone, line
router ->pc
DHCP enables
Service provider Qtel (national PTT for Qatar) for PSTN
HOL (VOIP) Greece for all VOIP calls

impedance > do not know national requirements and there is no way I can find locally

Default dial plan for spa3k not working

line 1 tab dial plan
([4-5]xx.<:@gw0>|xx.|*xx.|**xx.|<#9,:>xx.<:@gw0>)

pstn tab
(|xx.|*xx.|**xx.)

I am currently in Qatar
have 1 voip provider and both in line 1 and in pstn 1 I am registered with different account to this VOIP provider

I can dial VOIP , I can dial thorugh PSTN (calling in and authenticating) VOIP but I cannot dial any pstn unless i dial all those numbers twice!!!!!!!!!!

All local numbers start with 4,5
Is there any way to force all number to go to pstn without dialing TWICE each number!!!

CAn you tell me WHY an d how t correct it. I am a novice VOIP user but I try hard.

Somehow you need to find the local requirements. You may experiment with them (to the extent that you do not raise the ire of the local telephone company), you may enquire at electronics shops that sell such equipment, you may wait for another person from Qatar to reply here, or you can try searching the internet for your answer.
