| Hi, I'm having a strange problem with a Sipura-1000 device and was wondering if anyone might be able to help me. When the SPA-1000 is first connected to the network, it works fine. But after a couple of hours, it becomes unreachable - that is if you try to call it (using Free World Dialup), you get the unreachable signal (not sure if that's what it's called - similar to the busy signal). But I can still make outgoing calls using the SPA-1000 normally without any problems. To solve this problem temporarily, i disconnect the SPA-1000 from the network for a couple of minutes and then reconnect it. But this only buys me a couple of hours. Now this started happening when I switched to a different codec (G726-32), it didn't happen when I was using G711u. I cannot go back to using G711u for bandwidth considerations. Speaking of which, which codec do you recommend for 128/64 ADSL? One final thing, when this problem happens, I notice something strange in the info screen for the device - "Next Registration in" somehow gets stuck to between "0 s" and "1 s". When I disconnect the network cable though and reconnect it it returns to normal (a value between 1800 and 0). I have downloaded the latest firmware (2.0.10(e)), and have configured the device using the configuation tool provided at Voxilla (Free World Dialup (NAT with STUN)). Would appreciate your help on this. Take care, John |

| Exactly. I am using a Windows XP Professional machine (with Internet Connection Sharing) as a router. The thing is though I never had any problems until I changed the codec. So is there anything I could do other than get another router (which I'll consider as a last resort)? Oh, and which audio codec would you recommend for a 128/64 kbps ADSL connection? Thanks. |
